Took it out to play with it some more yesterday. The display for the cassette is really cool and the soft touch functions are amazing. A lot of features packed into this thing.

Full time duty for this tiny beast today!

I had no idea I needed to take out 14 screws to take this thing apart. It looks great all spread apart. Fits perfect in a 9" shelf opening.

that's a thing of beauty . these aren't growing on trees anymore like before so you don't really see them that often. i got both the silver and black units and coincidentally both are ****ed up at the moment lol. i actually finally found my pc 55 almost under my feet in the attic i musta looked at it 50 times without finding it . i got to fix these because these are insanely good radio's.

Really lovely, Joe! I reckon this design has the perfect blend of street cred badassery and high end classy design in black.

Incredible shape. Congratulations!

Rock On.

the pc55 is a very nice unit indeed-plenty of features to play with, albeit not quite as warm sounding as a pc5-but,when you have looks like these, who cares, right?

I can see an advantage that the 55 has over the 5: You don't need to pick it up and fiddle about underneath to change the oscillator setting. It's much more sensibly placed on the back.

Not that such a detail has me wanting to dispose of my PC-5, dispose of her? I can barely lift her clear of the floor..

I agree, it doesn't have a very deep warm sound that I was hoping for. Even though it has a 5 band EQ, it could have benifitted from a 'loudness' or 'bass boost' button ;-)

Great score!!! A bonafide street blaster, wrapped in a tuxedo

Got the same radio and it's the cornerstone of my collection!

Apologies in advance for the thread hijack :sadno: ...I just love this box
