Why must women do this?

My wife used to consistently screw up all the settings on the stereo and AV systems in our living room. Sometimes she'd call be to ask how to turn on the TV, after she'd messed up all the settings by randomly hitting this button and that one, in a random attempt to "make it work." She once asked me, "Why do you get stuff with so many buttons, switches and knobs? Can't you just get something SIMPLE with just on/off, volume and maybe a tuning knob? Who needs all that other stuff?" The funny thing is, she learns complex computer programs for her work, and now spends hours learning how to do everything possible with her new iPad and iPhone, but finds tone controls like EQ sliders or source selector switches impossible to master; they are just something to complain about. Clearly, it's about what she is INTERESTED in or LIKES, not about the actual complexity of the things. Women are different; that's for sure!
