I haven't been around as long as a lot of the members here on this site and S2G before...

But I was wondering, who was the first person to custom paint their M70?

By far and away, the M70 is the best radio to change the color of because the top controls and tuner cover are all on separate panels so now need to worry about losing your control script. I am thinking of doing one in another color.

So who was the first and what color was it?

Any pics?

Melly's are the freshest of the M70's I've seen so far but the EVH Edition is in a class of its own as an artistic piece...

& no painted box thread is complete without a nod to the mighty Glu & his custom M90....

Yeah, the Red White and Blue are pretty sick. I have seen them in person and the metallic is SICK!

Chris,

I painted the M70 in my avatar roughly 5 years ago (2009). Here is the boomboxery link about it. This "might" be before you joined?

Anyhow, as you can see, the answer to your question regarding what color it was, is red. I can't find the thread right now but before I painted, I posted a thread asking about what color. To my recollection, I went "against" the popular vote in choosing my color.

AWESOME!

Well that answers that. I bet you had no idea that so many people would follow suit.
