We were talking about back in the 80s popularity. And 931 can NOT be most known back than for the simply reason it was not sold all around the world , so it makes it really bad contender  . I remember m70 back than, but all were saying that is simply ugly and nothing special around... M90... nothing special even now days IMO. 777 was in every young street boy dreams back than.On any home or street party was involved one of those 4 eyed frankenstein . And it was sold in every continent and every country  .
So further chatting is futile :-P

I'm saying C100F.
But I was super divided over that and the 777.

Everyone that bought Run DMC's first record saw one (well, a 767 technically)
The C100 edges this out for me due to it's screen time in Breakin'.
Everyone who saw Breakin' wanted THAT boombox.

Rock On.

You know, at least we are getting some really good discussion out of this thread. A huge part of what boombox people are picking has a lot to do with demographic (location in the world). I was too young at the peak of boombox'n in the 80's, so as a guy that is at least 10 years younger than a lot of the members, I didn't get to see the advertising, commercials, kids on the street, b-boys, that you guys saw and drooled over. :hmmm:

This is a tough one :hmmm: I mean it could either be the Conion C100, Sharp GF777 or Lasonic TRC931. But back in the day I seem to remember the Lasonic more often

voted for the conion also because of breakin

but i have to say that the 777 is also big known!

hard to decide but especially when it comes to people who don't know about boomboxes they regognize the c100 more than the 777 cause it does more look like a common radio, the 777 has special looks not erveryone knows first what it is.
