while the antenna was still in the up postion -
i gently lower the handle --
--
surprisingly --all that has a negligible on the gross weight

but......
adjusting the 10 segment equalizer produced some dramatic results
like unfriggenbelievable !!!

You did remember to take your fingers off the sliders before noting the weight right? Cuz if your sliders are stiff due to neglect, and you put undue pressure on the knobs to make adjustments, me thinks it may indeed effect unfriggenbelievable results.
