My First Boombox was a very basic one, back in 1988 among with a Philips Matchline Colour Television to watch the Euro '88
and Marco Van Basten it came as a present a Philips D-8060. It wasnt something special but it was totally mine,
hadnt had to share it with my sister so i would listen to any Radio station i wanted without any fights
plus i could make recordings of my own taste in music. :)
Carried it the whole Summer of 88,
3 unforgettable months walking at the beach with it, felt like Superman.
35 years passed from that summer. Still a boombox aficionado.

For my birthday it was my turn to get a radio after seeing my two brothers get a PYE Three piece and a Silver. I decided on an Akai which was great, first day my brothers tape got chewed so returned to store who had sold out of the Akai and ended up with this sharp. 20w PMPO!

My 1st was a Candle JTR-1287. It was a great box, with soft touch cassette 3 song music search, Loudness, Bass, Treble & had great sound too. I got it from Consumer's Distributing after saving my paper route money all summer long when I was 16. Had it for 2 years before it got stolen.
