also i think that there is a limit to possible answers you can put on a poll. i think a couple of weeks ago i tried one that had about fifteen or so possible choices and at the end got a message saying to many choices. :w00t: :w00t:

Wow-I'm the only one so far that hit bass!! With fidelity-That's a given for me.
I need bass & fidelity!! A good example-The M-90!!
Good post-GB. :-) :-O

I think I need more options like features or size, but I chose sheer volume.
I use my box to rock the block, and you need sheer volume for that, which I think includes bass.
Boomboxes in general an sound good but lack in the fidelity department. If I want fidelity I'll listen to my home HiFi system.

Oh and blinky lights are cool.

I like a box with bass that way when you listen to a well recorded tape you can appreciate the music even more!

Heres my take on a boombox:

Looks.
Sound Quality.
Tape Deck performance.

i chose bass and i don't even have a kaboom or an m90.
obviously fidelity is actually tops but...
if a box can handle bass at decent levels IMHO it often handles everything else quite well. build and bass seem to go somewhat hand in hand, though with no kaboom, i can't hear the screeching highs to change my mind.

For me it has to be the tuner, I've got to say that there's nothing worse than a great looking and sounding box which can't recieve a clear FM Stereo signal very well. I'm a big fan of AFC. Next would be Fidelity, I hate listening to a box which has dull highs.

I picked "fidelity" altho looks are what initially attracts me to a boombox. If the box sounds good, that's a bonus.

I picked "Fidelity" too....

A couple of other options that would have been nice---

"Brand"

"Line-in"

"Style" (ie big, mini, 3+piece etc)

Since I am an avid JVC collector I probably would have picked "Brand"
