$500 is probably the "make or break" point for a lot of people, I know it is for me.. I personally will never pay over $500 for ANY box, even a JVC M90..
That's where eBay comes into play.. You find a sucker, I mean a bidder who had one of those as a kid, and is willing to pay whatever it takes to have a nice unit again. Shoot for the stars!

I bought my 6400 about a year ago for $150 shipped. It's complete and fully functioning. There was some minor damage to one of the speaker cases that was easily repairable.

I assume you're being funny, considering the profit you could get by re-selling it.
Yeah, I'd probably never pass up a decent box for $10. Maybe $10.99 though.

As for the actual topic. REAPER, I'd say if you know you wouldn't sell it for less than $500, and it has sentimental value, then don't worry about its worth. Join the club learn how to work on these, restore it and enjoy it.

Hope that doesn't seem rude, tone is hard to make over a keyboard. But you seem to like it, so enjoy it. They're great devices. Learn to install bluetooth and they're better in every way than modern systems.

Built in bluetooth? That would be really cool.

Like I said I don't know if I want to sell it yet, I've had it for a long time. It has sentimental value. The only reasons I considered selling it is 1) I don't use it anymore and instead of it sitting in the closet for another 20 years, I thought maybe someone else would enjoy it. 2) IF I sold it, I would use the funds to buy my wife a record player console to refinish and upgrade. I have a few other old boxes but I don't want to get rid of those. I kind of envision my daughters using them in their college dorms or something like that.

I had no idea there was this large of a following for old boxes. If I got a little bit more friendly response, I would have no problem posting pictures of my small collection. Maybe even talking about the good old days when I used them.

I understand where everyone is coming from but not everyone that comes here is an "ebay dealer looking to make a profit". I more or less was hoping for someone to say its only worth a couple hundred bucks. That way I can't justify selling it.
There's something about any item that has sentimental value, do I detect more than a little reluctance to let the BB go? Remember: When it's gone - it's gone. Passing a BB or two to your daughters is a nice idea and you never know, you could now be holding a family heirloom of the future!

I am known for buying up the toys. Post some pictures of the front, rear, close up of speakers and full photo. I will offer $ 225 shipped. I have 3 of this model currently. Or you can attempt eBay open bid and see what you can pull from it. Either or, best wishes.
