I had bought 3 within a few months. 1st I tried the Panny RX5010 and was not happy so I returned it to buy a Lennox sound 3 piece but still was not cool enough. I returned it to get my all time favorite the CEC in my avitar :-D :thumbsup: :cool: :cool:

This JVC PC-11 is my first box. Pops got it for me in 84'. Restoring it a few years back got me hooked to collecting.

Sanyo M-9902, I purchased this box with my own money in early 1979.
This isn't the actual box from then, I sold it in 1980 to upgrade to the Panasonic RX-5100.

It would be interesting to take a poll of members and find out how many still have their original boxes!

Skippys post is amazing when you think about it: A christmas present that lasted almost 30 years and is still in use. I cant think of many other gifts that could possibly do that.

My first box was a Toshiba 80. It didnt last long, it fell off a treehouse. :sadno:

Wow, I can`t believe some of you guys actually have the original boomboxes you had from that time!! Some are offering years of acquisition, 1983-1984, etc.ALL Golden Era! :thumbsup: :breakdance:
