I use a Cygnett Grooveride (CY-3-FM)

I use it at work all the time to broadcast streaming radio (Absolute 80s) from my work computer to the radio I take to work.

This one in particular is rather nice as it has a built in lithium ion battery and it charges by USB.

Had a couple of cheapy transmitters but this one's been my favourite, mainly cause it just works day in and day out without needing battery changes.

I got mine for about 20bux off ebay about a year ago. I think it's a superceded model, but it's probably still around online somewhere.

Rock On.

Would this work on any mp3 player other than an ipod Glue?

I bought a HLLY for about $130 on ebay direct from China. I was very disappointed in the sound quality. Also, the Power adapter plug has a loose connection. Not at all recommended.

Keep far away from the HLLY crap. If you don't want the police come knocking on your door. These things cause a lot of harmonics

I use a CCrane too . Works like a charm . Range is big enough ;-)

This is the updated version of the 'c-crane' mentioned by others:
http://www.ccrane.com/radios/fm-transmi ... ter-2.aspx

Worth every penny (esp with the DIY upgrades as discussed).
Excellent features (excellent sound quality & range, pick any frequency, input gain control, battery or mains) & small size/portability makes this perfect for boombox use.
I've had one for years & love it.

Did you pick yours up in the UK?
No I got it online direct from C-Crane - they ship worldwide

Are you sure that this is the one you're describing? Spec says 2 aaa batteries.

Reason i ask is that i need to get one.

Hmmmm this tread made me to buy one 5w Fmuser from ebay. Will report when arrive :-P . Im really impressed from Andre's Fmuser in Dessau. Not sure how powerful it was tho. And im sick from all really cheap transmitters which even with some hacks (there are a lot of treads about that in the net) are so not useful for bunch of blasters and distance. Not talking that nobody can cross the way because the hum is terrible :nonono: . Fmuser looks like a good deal. Got it BIN for 91 euro (shipping included) And 5 w sounds fair enough for strong signal in huge yard around. Can wait to get it home and give it a go :-P
p.s. just talked with Andre
his "Dessau" transmitter was 5 w too. So looks like right chioce. He told me 2 km range sure

Sven I'd love to hear a review but in the US a 5 watt FM transmitter is likely to get you a visit from the Authorities. :'-(

In theory here too , in Germany too , but who cares  . Actually it can be switched to 1w and 5 w so when carefully used no big issue. Was reading some reviews and they are saying in big city is max 300 meters. So no really big deal. Im planing to use it in full blast :breakdance: . I live in remote area and will choose some not really used freq so no problemo :-P . Actually more of the half of the tests are from the dudes from the States :ninja: .

Unfortunately I live in a large town, well on the fringe anyway, so there aren't many open frequencies and even then they are only one space from another station on either side. I was considering the HLLY TX-01 1.5 watt with 10 power settings, that should keep it low enough to not be a problem for me. The real problem I'm having plunking down that kind of coin is the lack of reviews so I'm looking forward to yours.
