ok - thanks tim --
i have no problem drilling the 20 holes !!!

first you would have to trade one of your wood bits for a metal one
For drilling holes in plastic there is really only one way to go......

Decided that today would be a good day to drag out My Three Woodies (sounds like an old TV show), tune them all to the same station, and let 'em rip. Talk about "sensory stimulation"! Wood never sound so good!!

What we've got here are a Sony CFS-85S (Zilba'p), National RX-7200, and National Panasonic RX-5700.

The previous owner of the Japanese-issue 7200 seems to have been a fan of a Tokyo radio station and showed off his loyalty on the top of his boombox. At first, I was just going to rip the tacky bumper sticker off (it doesn't exactly enchance the overall elegance of the box), but then I decided to relax and leave it on... because 1) I probably couldn't get it off, anyway, at least not without making a mess; 2) it's a little window into the world of the previous owner on the other side of the world, which is kind of cool!

that a cool looking trio, boobshaka--
which sounds better ?
A. Sorry for getting your post out of order. While you were composing your reply, I took down my post to correct some stupid spelling mistakes, and I reposted it after you posted your reply.
B. Actually it's kind of cool. Looks like you knew what I was going to post before I posted it... which is more than I usually know!
C. IMHO, the Sony outshines both Nationals. Fuller and "throatier" sound... if that makes sense. By comparison, the Nationals - while still very good - are a little thin.
