And right at this very moment I'm watching "The Late Late Show" with Craig Ferguson on CBS-TV. Talk about cosmic convergence! Did you feel the ripple in the time-space continuum? I felt a little bump. Of course, it could just be the meat loaf I had for dinner. :'-(

This boomer is pure quality at low volumes.

"Into The Gap" is one of the best 80s albums, no question. It's up there with The Human League's "Dare", Duran Duran's "Rio" & Soft Cell's "No Stop Erotic Cabaret".

Today's "constant companion" is going to be my JVC RC-M80R. Its only negative is a broken-off function flipper, but the control fortunately can still be changed with the nub that remains. On the positive side, the M80 looks great (so long as you like plastic, latttice grilles, which I do), sounds full and thumpy, has cool electronic tuning (manual or automatic: your choice), and is the only "R" version I've ever run into. (Maybe this one came with a "R"emote included, although all M80's seem to have a din socket on the front/bottom for a wired remote.)

Now playing: Drew and Mike, a Detroit morning team, on WRIF 101.1 FM.

@OSS: True, the Horny´s(Philips aka´s) are interesting boxes. And for 10bugs at flea a good shot.

Today I'm cranking up the Sharp GX-CD130:

With it's 2-way 4 speaker system and X-BASS on, it sounds very loud- almost room filling in my opinion.

I was flexing this beasts muscle today. I was having thoughts of selling it cause it's so damn big, but every time I hear it I like it more. It has an awesome sound.
I wouldn't ebay it, for fear that it would get busted, I might put it on craigslist for pickup only but I'm in no hurry to sell. I guess is the right offer comes around.
