Great suggestion, there's one up for sale for $250 fairly close by me...in pristine condition. However I can see that the headphone jack is on the back of the unit, and chances are I will be using a boombox inside of a car or truck, with my Samsung AKG earphones plugged in for private listening. Just like as you see here with my Trans-Oceanic:

That Zenith Trans-Oceanic is a wonderful looking radio. Yours looks in new condition too, which is astonishing for a box that's nearly 50 years old.

(also the 8989 has a headphone jack on the left hand side above the power socket, so it might work for you.)

Obviously I bought it used, it needed some work and it still needs a bit more work. But it's in mostly proper working condition now.

Okay so I'm going to update this thread a bit, since I have a bit more money saved ($270), though I am in the U.S. so eBay sheep are shoveling those prices through the roof.

I am located in the Camas/Vancouver area of Washington State, above the Columbia River.

I would prefer a box that's got some care provided in the making...minimal corner cutting. No plastic pieces of crap that are mostly empty inside.

Usually I am surfing sites such as Craigslist, eBay, Offerup and Mercari. Considering COVID precautions I don't go to Goodwill all that often, and usually all I find there is low-end/BOTL Garbage. White Van or Not.
