View attachment 5405here's the gear assembly you need to turn, when you turn this gear it takes all the loose slack out of the cable , be sure the cable is seated on all the guide wheels in the turntable assembly. .
the 2500 has a great simple deck , the tuner is awesome and picks up better than most of my other boxes , i think it lacks the highs of the vz 2000 but it's close to the same sound overall, the 2500 is so much easier to work on than the 2000 but the 2000 is a much nicer box.the 2500 has din input for line in only which kinda sucks but you can just buy the din cable.the build quality of the 2500 is nowhere near as good as the 2000 but still nothing cheap or junky about it. but back to the sound , i would call it loud and punchy with average sound quality but not poor sound quality.m40dotcom said:How does the sound of the 2500 compare to a 2000? Never seen/heard a 2500 in person before. And any other reason to temp me into getting a 2500 in the future?
Nice thread I happened upon here. Boomboxlover48. Those infinitys you turned me on to sound kick good in my garage. I just put in new needles on the closet rebelted serviced 3500 in the womans closet room and it sounds stellar. However I am finding that the heavier gram weight vinyls drag a bit in speed. I'll have to open it and hit the speed adjuster a tad. My question is if I am looking down on the adjuster, do I screw right or left for more speed?BoomboxLover48 said:I have VZ2000 and VZ3500 but should admit VZ3500 got amazing sound quality hooked up to expensive speakers. It is just mind blowing......! Don't be fooled my the modest rating of the 28Watts/ channel, they sound like 120Watts per channel with clean and crisp sound.
I thought I was listening to an $8000 music system.
So how much you selling it for?SpaceLobster said:OK,
I will ask some more stupid questions before attempting anything, because by now I've understood I know NOTHING about how this works. I'm just amazed it doesn't explode when you turn it on and that I actually got the cassette working-ish. Beosystem10 I love how you linked me to 26 pages of partly hieroglyphic-like schematics and incredibly detailed assembly instructions that I couldn't understand what so ever. Did you mean to link a certain page in there or... ? I did get most of what you said though, thanks.
So this switch is it the kind of gate-like thing on top of the wheel with the wire or is it this white clutch on the side ? Both of them will be affected by the turning of the wheel, but I assumed they were for stopping when the needle was finished or so.. How exactly does it work ? Do I just turn the white wheel connected to the motor with a belt to tensions the cord ? sometimes when I do that motor starts running and doesn't stop until I cut the power.. And where is this pulley you speak of Boomboxlover 48 ?
And JVC-floyd I would LOVE some photos, I'll be glad to provide you with some as well !
Honestly, I just want to fix it, sell it and never buy another one again. I'm sorry, but you can't even play records while walking !? So I'm supposed to walk down the street NOT jamming and only jam when I get tired of carry the darn thing and put it down ?
Peace
