i have 3 VZ's and have stripped all of them to clean them and change belts etc......

i can crack one in half in around 20 mins, if you want some idea on how to get them apart, let me know, there are several things to look out for when parting the VZ cases.

the only thing i haven't split apart is the tape deck, but that will be soon as i have ordered new belts and will change them as soon as......

The yellow and black stylus pictured above is an audiotechnica at-91

Dont forget different models, such as Australia might have different carts fitted :hmmm:

STY 123 is the same as AT-91

system - original part # - Goldring stylus Ref#

Sharp vz2000xa - sty-121 - GR# 946

vz3500
vz2000
vzv2
vz1500 - sty-123/sty-141 - GR# 998/1008/1009/1027 - this is the AT-91

vz-v20 - sty-130 - GR#1035

vz-v30 - sty-129/133/139 - GR#1034
Thanks for this reference tshorba.

I think I have found an error though.
I just checked the user manual(VZ-2000E) & service manuals(VZ-2000X/XA) and it seems that all these VZ-2000's use STY-123 = GR#998 = AT-91.

VZ-2500 is STY-130 = GR#1035 as above.

Not sure if the GR946 fits in the V-2000 or not.

I used the goldring book from about 1989 or so as the ref for my list.

The motors in the turntables of the VZ series have a built in regulator circuit. They can and do get damaged because the adjuster is so easy to short out- But they can be fixed. Be careful taking these motors apart! The brushes are very fragile and real easy to wreck. If anyone needs help on these, I will do what i can.
