Hi, some days ago I found a sort of golden Vinix. With English writing on it, luckily not with the usual German text lol. Anyone got one too?

Does anyone maybe have a service manual for the Vinix? This one developed some white noise on the left speaker and I want to fix it. Would be so much easier to do with a SM :)

Thanks guys. Is it really that rare? I was wondering if there was a Vinix with English stamps and found this one very short after. Didn't even see that it had a different colour until it arrived :) To be honest I won't go outside with this box.... It's the least macho box I've ever seen lol..... women love it :)

Afraid too it's going to be hard to find a sm for it. Didn't open it yet, but I don't think it's too complicated. So will just replace the caps and see what happens :)

You need to clean all switches with deoxit first. Especially the record slider switch (located behind the cassette mecha). If this does not help, then you can proceed with the repair.
For more details about the deoxit cleaning, you can search in the Tech Talk forum. :-)

The problem with record bars is that often there isn't any space to use DeOxit on it. Not all of them have holes.

If the white noise appears when you turn the box on and then goes away a few seconds later, it's probably one of the caps.

Reli, it's the other way around now. When I fire up the box after some time off, the white noise starts slowly. The longer I leave the box off, the longer it takes for the noise to come back after I put it on. Pretty sure it's a cap :( Its on the project list right now for a recap of the amp board. Guess the box is cool enough to put some effort in it :)
