I can't believe nobody's pointed out the single aesthetic pinnacle of human history.

That's the Nickelodeon N8000... apparently there's something called the N9000 too, but I can't find a picture of that. I had the alarm clock (aka the Time Blaster) when I was a kid, kept it for about 13 years until my girlfriend at the time demanded I leave it at the Salvation Army. I never even knew the matching boombox existed. New personal goal.

PS. The green tubes in the handle are neon.

Right on. That kind of thing really needs to get re-homed to a badass child. How much did you get it for on eBay?

I was looking for pictures of the 9000 unit and I found out there was also a desk lamp and phone in the product line... I have this sudden fantasy of refitting my room in green-and-purple Nickelodeon crap.

Here's an unusual box- it is a Jeep suitcase boombox. It is a called a Jeep Z-case Portable Stereo, Model ZC-PSB-9. Runs on 6 C cell batteries, or 9v plug in, and plays CD's and AM/FM. It has a “Line” plug so I’ll need to find out if this is a line-in. It actually sounds pretty good and it feels nice and sturdy, the quality of the materials used is good, not cheap. The right side plays the disc, I like the reel look of the door, and the left side is a storage for 6 dics.

This will be my take-along rugged box for camping and the like. Unfortunately it was missing the battery cover, dang it. Still deffinately a keeper.
