Real collectors DON'T ship  ...nice job man i respect what you are doing for your homie!
Lol, local pickup sure is nice, and so much less stressful than worrying about some guy throwing my boombox around during shipping. 😉

Thanks man, and this one was actually less grimy than the 1st one but tape deck is non op :-( But the top trim is in great shape! Overall just needs some cleaning and TLC. 😆

Fantastic! :-)
I just purchased a M-90C for $100.00 so i have 2 now!! :-)
Wow! Ok now I'm envious LOL, What a great price for one of these fine specimens, great score man! ;-)

And thanks to EVERYONE for the comments, these boomboxes are out there, just keep searchin high and low. OR, find a guy like I did with a JVC tree growing in his backyard, and reap the benefits! I love hearing about other members rare finds, especially when they pay so little money for them, keeps the hope alive for me! 👍✌

The reason for this box being expensive is because it is the king of all the holy grail's and the sound quality and the history behind it. Back in the day when I went through numerous boxes the M-90 was the pinnacle for me even then I thought highly of the M-90 so it is a very sought out box. I even had my girlfriend's sister take this picture of my original back in the day which is now my avatar. I was very proud to own one then in 83' so imagine the love for this box.

I agree with you man, and that's such a dope avatar picture from back in the day. I think another thing that kind of draws people to this boombox (other than the sound quality) is because its the boombox on the cover of LL COOL J's classic hip hop album. Its iconic, and brings back a lot of good memories for some people when they hear the song "Radio" pump out the woofers of an M90. I know its not EVERYONES grail, but every boombox has its following. Like many have said before, a boombox is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. ;-) I'm happy with mine. No regrets :-)

Thanks SLO for the compliment.

I agree with you on the fact that this box was on LL Cool J's album and also the Beastie Boys and that may have influence some to get an M90. I remember when I first saw this box back I had to have it. Once I was able to buy it it was just a feeling about it that I said that's it I'm done buying boomboxes and settled with the M90. Regrettably I had also an M70 and an M71 and like a dumb ass I sold them. I do not have any of my original boxes which breaks my heart because they would have been in mint condition because I'm very careful with my stuff. I have an M-90 and an M-70 that I've bought on ebay but it's not the same I truly miss mine.

Your welcome man, and your right, I forgot about the M90 on one of the Beastie Boys albums

I feel your pain about not holding on to your OG Boomboxes, my 931 woulda been minty fresh too, I'm such a neat freak LOL. It was cleeean. I left my TRC 931 in my bro in laws garage when I moved out of state when I was 20, I told him he could just keep it. Later he rented out that house and left it in the garage and the renters used to use it and party, after that...its all a mystery :-( Its out there somewhere.

Great stories!
I to don't have my original Sanyo M9970 that I bought in Manhattan back in 80'.
I could have bought it back when my neighbor passed away but I didn't! :( I also gave away my GF-8989II to my girl in 85' when she graduated in 85'. I bought that in 81'
I do however still have my original JVC PC-55JW that I bought in 85'.
I'm at least grateful I still have that one!!!
