Thanks guys!

One of the reasons I wanted to do a video was, like Bobby said, not many of us have seen one running and the lights for the deck functions are reallly lovely.

Norm: She goes from 76-108, but is a little bit screwy.... I think the needle may be out of wack.

I must say, Toshiba's are a TRUE joy to work on. The insides make SENSE on the three I've got and they have the least least traumatic belt changes of any of my collection.

Will be posting some more pix as soon as my new replacement strip sticker can handle the scrutiny of higher res imaging.

And I think I might do some more videos! It's quite a bit of fun. Thanks for the kind words, brothers!

Awesome box!!!!!!

Looks like a sweet grab on your part. Thanks for the video, too!

If only allowed one of each Manufacturer in a collection, that sure looks like "THE" ultra-desirable Toshiba to have...

How long did it take you to figure our what all the buttons and switches do???

Glue. That's ony true for simple repairs like belts. The pioneers like the SK-550 have a similar layout as do many Panasonics. More involved repairs are far more difficult because unlike boomboxes with actual removable chassis which allows you partial access to both the front and back of the PCB, live testing and desolding will require signficant disassembly/removal of the PCB from the back cabinet. When hanging, it's not practical or safe to power up for testing for fear of shorting.

Glucifer,

Can you help me find a sticker for mine? It fell off in the late 80s

By the way, yours looks much better, mines more of a beater box, a sentimental keepsake. Tape deck went out years ago. :sadno:

Restocat: I made mine in Publisher and it's really hacky. Fatdog is currently making a fully accurate one. I'm sure he'll let us know when they're done! Your's looks in very nice condition. Like I say, they're easy to get apart and replace the belt on, well worth the effort.

Norm: Ohh, ok. Lucky I won't be doing any of that then!!

JT: I'm still working on it! This has some wacky buttons, like separate On and Off buttons??

Can anyone please do a solid translation of all the front buttons? I'm still not sure what the ones next to the mic/headphone sockets do as well as 4 or 5 others.

Thanks Restocat! Well done, very much appreciated.

Will test out the Wide mode!

Thanks, NZ! You need one of these. But you've got the radio coming, so I'm still jealous.
