 Yup. Good line out function and no speaker out signal is a good sign of blown amps. However, if no or poor line out function -- then the issue is generally before the amps and more difficult to pinpoint.

Ira i went home so fast i dont remember getting from A to B !

I knew being the electrical waste dump that something would be in the box
but for a moment while driving home i figured they may have kept the radio
but filled the box with an old toaster or other electrical stuff. If so it didnt matter
because i was excited to save the box from disaster anyway.

Wish i had a camera to share the moment but even if i did i wasnt hanging
around long enough to be told i couldnt take it :-D

I have never thought to try the line-out into another boombox in situations
like this :dunce: but unfortunately guys line-out appears to be poor too :'-(
as well as headphone jack.

As i have mentioned i would be happy to fix this, i just cant seem to find the right
people to do it. Shame really because i do have a few nice boomboxes that
could do with a good Tech to sort them out.

Not only did you get an incredible boombox, you saved a classic from being senslessly destroyed.I've always been amazed that some governments could get so powerful as to tell a private citizen what they can do with something they buy and own.It would infuriate me if a thriftshop couldn't resell something perfectly good because of prohibitive fees.Who are they to inspect the wiring on my donated waffle iron or boombox. They should stay out of peoples business because they're no moral authority, but are morally corrupt.Sorry but imposed recycling or anything for that matter makes me mad.

Ofcourse if it wouldn't have been at a collection point you probably couldn't have gotten for free so I'm sure it doesn't bother you at this point.Good job saving this box from being destroyed. It will live another day to make someone happy."Making (a) Classic Boombox (es) Happy Again" also. :-D
