Shouldn't these be in a better titled post? So much for the 'this weeks feature' or employee of the month club.

How Long Have You Been a Collector
about 3 years

What Got You Started collecting
when we made another party at my house i realized how cool would be to have some boomer outside which will play directy the same music from the DJ mixer thru fm transmitter......

What was the First Box You Got
I remember some mono hitachi first , but my second was double cassette hitachi trk-w55 back in 1986 and i was the happiest 15 yars old idiot not using cables for recording anymore

How Many Boxes Do You Own
no idea. and im serious

What Are Amoung The Favourites In Your Collection
Toshiba SX 1000 , JVC 550 and Palladium 550 ( this one is a gem believe me )

Do You Have a box You Regret Selling/Trading
I sold all my silver boomers and some times im missing them , but all went to other collectors so im happy

Have You Ever Found a Great Box In The Wild (or for peanuts)
Yea i found a few

Is There Anymore Boxes You Would Really Still Like
Bombeat 40 and some other black boomers with nice double LEDs or spectrum analyzers.

Bling or Bass
Bling . If i want bass i will use PA speakers.

Have You Learned Anything since Collecting
For me - most important is to sell to other collectors for not crazy cash, not on ebay because that way you can expect the same from them. Better to not have some cash from boomers , but friends and more good boomers  And i learned that i can catch any silver boomer , but hard to find good black for my collection  . And most important - many black boomers with shiny chrome and blinking leds in the dark, playing all together from a good fm transmitter, with this strange combination - many stereo sounds playing from one wall and different locations - never had this experience in any club :dj-party: . It is so special ......
O yea - that my English suck

How Long Have You Been a Collector

Almost 5 years

What Got You Started collecting

While bored on work comp I grabbed my Lasonic TRC975 out of garage to mess around with. I had to repair solder joint that was loose causing right channel issues. I thought about adding a pair of midrange speakers but then decided to clean unit real good and paint white speakers black because of yellowing. When done I decided to look up Boomboxes on eBay and saw a Lasonic TRC975 selling for $800. Freaked me out so I started looking for other boxes I had and purchased a Panasonic RX5010 for $40 shipped. Then I decided to repaint l the Lasonic woofers white for originality. Then it was start of collecting but end of my marriage. collecting is more fun anyway.

What was the First Box You Got

Let's see are we talking when we first started collecting or years ago :hmmm: I'm thinking it was when I first started collecting. If that's the case I already owned my TRC975 but purchased a Panasonic RX5010 off eBay from a guy living only a couple hundred miles north in Wisconsin ;-).

But if we are talking as kid I got my 1st AM hand radio which was the GE 76'. In 1976 at age 8...

How Many Boxes Do You Own

I own 43 Boomboxes and 6 Walkmans..

What Are Amoung The Favourites In Your Collection

Every single box I own holds a special place in my heart. But if I had to choose a favorite it would probably be my Sharp VZ2000!!

Do You Have a box You Regret Selling/Trading

Probably my Sanyo M9998 or National RX5700 which I just recently traded. Although I really would prefer a National RX7000 which is at top of my most wanted list now.

Have You Ever Found a Great Box In The Wild (or for peanuts)

Hmmm let's see just some small units, a Walkman and a TC999 :-) I really don't look in the wild :-(

Is There Anymore Boxes You Would Really Still Like

Lasonic TRC935, Conion C126 and C100 Korean, National RX5350,7000, Helix Wheely or AKA

Bling or Bass

I buy/trade boxes mainly for looks but sound is a plus!!! Perfect example is Dynasty Discolite has kick A$$ looks but not great in sound department :-)

Have You Learned Anything since Collecting

How Long Have You Been a Collector

Around 6 or 7 years, could be longer can't really remember.

What Got You Started collecting

I walked into a second hand shop and brought a VZ-2000 they had in a dark corner. I started to do some research and found the stereo2go forum.
I originally brought the VZ as it had a turntable (love my vinyl & turntables) and from then on I was hooked.

What was the First Box You Got

When I was young we had a Akai box. My parents were not music people at all so we didn't have a stereo in the house. It is still the same at my parents, no stereo. Growing up in regional Victoria, in a small town, we didn't have much in the way of stereo shops so I never saw them around when I was young.

My first box was the VZ-2000 mentioned above

How Many Boxes Do You Own

Around 15 or so, most are in storage at the moment

What Are Among The Favourites In Your Collection

Conion C-100, it's just impressive – big & loud, this one gets the most attention from people
National RX-XE550, rare and very a nice box

Do You Have a box You Regret Selling/Trading

National RX-A2, miss that one

Have You Ever Found a Great Box In The Wild (or for peanuts)

After a lot of legwork over a number of years

Crown CSC-850
Pioneer Robo's (red & grey)
National RX-7000 & RX-XE550
Sharp GF-767 & VZ-2000

It does take a lot of time & patience to find boxes in the wild

Is There Anymore Boxes You Would Really Still Like

Sanyo M-X820 this is my biggest want but I would also like to find a JVC RC-550 one day

Bling or Bass

Depends on the box. Some look nice and sound like crap, some look like arse but sound great. It's about finding the right compromise sometimes.

Have You Learned Anything since Collecting

I have learnt a lot more about circuits and fault finding since I started collecting.

There was more different models produced than I ever imagined

I have also learnt that the boomboxery collective is one of the strongest & most generous of all collecting communities I have encountered or ever will. I have had great dealing with a number of members and met some truly stand up people through here.
