I've also noticed that high demand boomboxes are priced quite high, many not selling. But then again, when the prices are this high, you would expect that not every Joe is going to be in that segment of the market so they do take longer to sell. This market would probably be a great market for people wanting to grow or pad their collection with the non-grails since many are quite affordable. But grails have been pretty much collected out here in the States. That's why lots of european or Japanese variants are flooding the market. Not many can afford a north American grail but the Japanese 76-90 versions are all over eBay now at much more affordable prices. Of course the issue is that you can't enjoy the FM band like you would and in my opinion, this arguably takes away a big reason for having boomboxes in the first place. I used to place wish list items on the eBay watch list and would see examples popping up now and then. These days, it could take months or years between. Some models are almost never seen anymore. For example, I have an affinity for the Pioneer CK-11 series.... I haven't seen one of these in years. I also have the Kenwood DC-20 in my watch list. I already have several examples but they all have varying degrees of cosmetic issues which I'd like to find a minty one. Forget minty ones, I haven't seen a complete DC-20 in many years, just bits and pieces of the components. I'm not sure about other more common ones but even the Sanyo M9994 which I can't say is particularly rare is also very difficult to find. There are, like BMoney says, some examples from odd countries, but USA ones have little selection.
