I agree with the m90 decks and the Panasonic decks, the Aiwa TPR-990 has a two motor deck also the deck is the one from the TPR 950 but with the second motor controlling the mechanism ,,they are ok but to me they are noisey... :-)

I dont know much about decks but I do know that my m90 deck is pretty fantastic. My sanyo m-w25f with the solenoid buttons aint too shabby either.

Fisher big boys 480/490 also has a nice logic deck system. They are also pretty simple to work on like Sanyo. ;-)

The JVC PC55's and the JVC M60,80,90. All use the 2 motor full logic deck, beautiful when they're working correctly! ! :)

I hope your not referring to the m-x920 being simple. I opened mine up and almost had a heart attack. Unfortunate too, cause its clean and just needs the ungooing and rebelting.

Well I guess I've done enough Sanyo deck restores. :hmmm:

I like the deck of the Pioneer Sk-909 too because the fancy music and repeat features. It's works smoother compared to the jvc ones. Sadly it's missing the ability for a remote, otherwise it would be my favourite.

I like the logic action on the Toshiba S90 the best I think, the button positions allow for really quick access and the deck sounds rather lovely.

I don't have a lot to compare but my best deck is on my lowly Toshiba RT-S782 ... it has a great soft touch assisted mechanism ... very smooth ... oozes quality ... a pleasure to use :-)

I think rick might be onto something. I'd do a comparo on my m90 and s90 if the s90 door wasn't locked up.

I drool when I use the deck on my PC 550, just amazing the logic controls and how the buttons make you feel when you push them.

Both of my M90 decks work too, and I gotta say it is really nice too.

another one is the toshiba rt sx-1000 the decks have the speed of the m90 pc 55 decks also 2 motors per deck with feather touch controls. kinda clunky sounding like the m90 but with the smoothness of the pc 55.

I've got a 50-60 odd box collection including M90, major sanyo's and aiwa's but I don't think any of them are more pleasurable to use then Panny RX-C52.

Epic deck on an epic personal grail.
