For about 15 minutes there was a 975 with most of the functions working on Ebay for $250.00. The seller said there was only sound on the left side. I sent him a message asking him did he open the back cover to check the problem? He responded that he didn’t initially but per my suggestions - he opened the cover, found a loose speaker wire, reconnected and it was perfect. He has since took down the auction and told me he will put it back up at a higher price –lol

I supposed I could have kept my mouth shut but its cool. I’m holding out for a 920 anyways.

A good rule to follow is NEVER have the seller open the unit, most the time they don't know what they are doing and can mess up a bunch of stuff!

I think you did a good thing for the guy.
I sometimes offer advice based on known issues with some of the things I'm more experienced with and it does make you feel good when your words help them along a little.
Had a few people do similar for me when I've traded in commodities that were outwith my comfort zones, such as Waltham watch movements, diecast model cars, architectural salvage and a ton of gravel that I got landed with after taking it in part exchange for a small, domestic LPG boiler and not realising how much space gravel needs!

Like Space Lobster says, karma, etc..

I saw it but like it was already said, from all his parts listings, I expected him to be a collector and if he couldn't fix it there was probably a reason (that was beyond my skill).
