Since it is on Amazon I predict the price will be discounted at some point. Definately not an item to preorder. Say did you see the cube and turntable from the same series? Interesting, but not cheap. I will be getting some of this gear as soon as the price drops. Shelf queen or not I like them!!!!

I personally would have liked a remote - grills would be ok, I guess - but then it would look too much like Aiwa 880
I also like how the two speaker boombox looks like. It's twenty inches wide, and comes with a strap - pretty cool!

On my watch list, I was thinking of bidding but am a bit dubious as the seller has no feedback and as you say - they're not out yet!
I sent him a message asking for more details and where he got it and this was my reply:

Hi there, the boombox is just like new I had it for about two months. there is not a single scratch on it. It was unpacked and I had it plugged in for about a month, its got a great sound, was pretty surprised, sounds much better then 35w. And yes Im new to ebay. the boombox was a gift. My friends mum won it as a price at conference. Now he s sorry he gave it away . haha didnt know at the time how much its gonna cost, there was no sign on the web. so As soon As I found out how much is it worth I decided to sell it as Im in need of money. honestly Im sorry to let it go as well. looking forward to hear from you too. thanks Joe

27.9" long and 19.5" tall - I know the handle doesn't fold down, but that 3 speaker boombox is almost as long as a GF-777 and 1.5 inches taller than a Helix Wheely! - MASSIVE!!

So his friend gave it to him as a gift, and only a month later he decides to sell after finding out how much it's worth. Pretty weak sense of ethics. Personally I would have offered to give it back to my friend since he had no idea it was worth that much..... but that's just me.strigner said:

its kind of cool but i am just not sold on it. i mean while its for sure one of the coolest looking new offerings we have had in a while i just have my serious doubts to it performing any better than some of the old blasters.

I mean TDK does not jump out at me when i think of a media player. I have real concerns this is a case of the name being bought up and slapped on products of questionable quality.

Browsing the Future Shop web site today (FS is a Canadian retailer owned by Best Buy). See they have the TDK 3-speaker box, and the sound cube, in stock! I'll be dropping by this week to do some testing!

two things this box does look quite nice in person although too much like a monolith it could have been so good with just a few extra touches. grills and maybe for the sake of the older crowd a radio dial even if it was a lcd or whatever.
secondly this box does not sound like five bills. maybe two i would think about it but honestly i was less than impressed with it overall. has a bit of heft to it but seemed like it would be tossed into the cyber junk pile after a few months. not sure if its going to be sucessful for tdk but i am betting on no
