Besides we don't know if this quote "because it reminds them of the classic boombox " is the reason they spent that much which is really all I was questioning.

I gotcha. But I think we all agree that compared to recent boxes that have unorthodoxed designs (such as the kaboom and altec lansing ones), this one is far more similar in shape and top handled layout to the ones we consider as classic.

I agree - it looks like a modern version of Aiwa 880! In fact, this boombox should've been made by Sony, since they own Aiwa now - and called Aiwa 880i or something :-)

It also had the custom green leather on the handle that won't be available on the regular release.
I'm not saying that justifies the high price but exclusivity always costs more.
Whoever won it has something nobody else has...at least for 3 to 6 months.

It had custom green leather? Dang, if I'd known that, I might've given it more serious thought. Would've been great to have it playing christmas songs under the tree, come christmas day.

:agree: this box is close to a classic remake even if it only looks like it in a few ways. If they added some grills, a little color, some VU's, etc. they would be very close to a modern classic box and one that I would be very tempted by.

:agree: with Norm on this one.
It looks like it is built solid and probably rocks the house.
But there will be bugs in the first versions as well that will be ironed out.
As is with ALL modern electronics that have an operating system.

Ill Be the first ....
To wait till it comes down in price.

It has spectrum analyzer instead of VUs - so it's not too bad!

It's common knowledge that those without patience, who simply can't wait, will always pay far higher for the latest technological gadgets than someone who can wait a bit for those same items to become saturated into the marketplace, often with the latest firmware and updates.

Norm, have i waited long enough for my M90??

I will definitely be getting this AFTER CES to be sure I don't miss out on anything else. But did I read somewhere that this thing takes 'C'batteries? :hmmm: dome thing about that doesn't seem right, but otherwise, I am in!!!!
