Hey Vienna, thanks for showing that FH.
Looks like a fairly late one, what number is it? It is nice.

Some early FH boxes had awesome three way speakers, this one looks early nineties....

Congrats rick, a highscore!

Would it be possible, to take a pic with the MasterBlaster?
The size-difference would be interesting. :hmmm:
It looks to be bigger, or?

The masterBlaster is the biggest!!! Look

OMG, that is such a cool unit. TURN THE DOL ON and ROCK.

Very nice example what I drooled over as a teen, and still am!
So, just how good is the turntable? Never heard one!

Just a question, if it's AC only then is it a boombox, or (gulp) mini home stereo???

(going to get killed for asking this..... :-O )

Ohh beautiful stacks Peter! Saved me the trouble of carting some of mine outside to photograph this weekend! This is a great image for anyone asking sizes!

Sony Apm Fan: the turntable sounds great, needs a good earth/ground, but very nice.
These Sony's (according to more knowledgable people than I on here) had an option to
use a separate battery powered component amp unit, so techinically they can be termed portables
IF you can find one of these.

I don't have one however... but you never know what might turn up one day!

The DOL does rock hard indeed!

Rock On.

Yeah, I kinda knew that but was just being cheeky :-D

Did you see this old Aiwa?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BIG-Vintage-80s- ... 35a8ce343d

Thought about bidding on the red robo, but too much $$$$

Haha, cheeky is always good!

That's a nice Aiwa, but the condition is less than desirable... any radios treasure-chest-de list seem to be brutally corroded thanks the climate in QLD, especially being on the coast. It's a shame, because it's a great looking Aiwa! I've been looking to buy off him for the last few years, but all the ones that pique my interest have rust/corrosion.

I can't really get excited about the Disco Robo... not on ebay anyway. Maybe if I found one locally I'd be more into it,.. they seem to go for 400-500 on ebay, which I think is a bit much. But that's mainly cause I'm not really into them!

Hahah, well the M90, C100-F, GF-777 and BigBen also destroy the JC-2000 soundwise too!!

JC2000 is all bark and very little bite. The amp craps out when it should be kicking in.

Man, that's very sad news to hear... There was a time, not too long ago, I used to want one of those and/or a C100-F. Then I got my J-1 and didn't see the point. :-/ The TC-999 might be the last jumbo sized box I ever buy.

True about the robo.

I nearly bought a very early Aiwa last Sunday, but it was too flithy to consider.
Still, it could have had potential, but I chose the little white National and the Pana 680.

Hey Monolithic, what is the sound like on the Big Toshiba in your Avatar?

Don't get me wrong it does have a BIG sound. I hate to discount any of the JC2000's cache as a hot blaster, but the sound wasn't the most important thing when it was designed.

It's still a must-have for me due to it's size and it's not like it sounds awful.

But when comes to REAL blasting the JC2000 isn't up to the task thanks the them cheaping out on the amp.

To be very honest, I was expecting very little from the sound of the Super Jumbo, due to being less than captivated by the sound of theJC2000 and was severely shocked when I heard the POWER out of it. But please don't just take it from me, theres lots on here with them who can review their sound far more accurately than I, plus I'd hate to be the guy that put you off getting one and then you miss out!

Hahah, I'm a fair ways off meeting your legendary stature my friend. I don't even have my own TV show!!

Have you ever seen one of these in .au Aaron? I'm certain I've never come across one as I would've thrown ludicrous amounts of money at it, but you know a lot more about what's come out locally.

Rock On.

:eek:fftopic: :-D It's not "big"... It's a small box with small sound... Clean and clear but'll get blown out by the other 6" woofer boxes in my collection... Can't handle bass too well either. Still, it's one of the best looking boxes ever made and probably one of the most technologically advanced boxes in it's day.
