Been after one of these since the first time I found out what they were, and hunted high and hunted low. Like a lot of the extra the special ghettoblasters released Australia never saw, to my knowledge, a domestic release of this unit, if it did then it was certainly very, very low numbers. Never saw one .au ebay or otherwise so set my gaze abroad, I almost nabbed Tiko's at one stage and then asked Peter Blasterpunk to keep an eye out, but blasterkarma was on my side!

Yahoo.jp came through with the goods again, listed as untested and not working junk I took the plunge and won her for about 50bux, (+ $200 to cover shipping and my contacts commission). She arrived in a dirty state but fired up, no sound though. De Oxiting for about half an hour brought her sound back and she roared back to life. Deck A is working but Deck B needs a new motor. FM stereo comes through louder on the left channel than the right, but apart from these minor issues she's all blasting like a monster.

This has to be the loudest box I have, the volume gets terrifying. It doesn't have the quality sound of an M90, more closer to a C-100, but a bit less punchy. TRUE ghetto sound!

This blaster really is a work of art and I love her dearly. So very pleased to have a Super Jumbo of my own, it's been at the top of my neeeds list since I first wrote one up. Completely ROCKIN!

Congrats rick, a highscore!

Would it be possible, to take a pic with the MasterBlaster?
The size-difference would be interesting. :hmmm:
It looks to be bigger, or?

Hey Glucifer,

That's a nice find!

Tell you what, I am not a collector but if I saw one of those I don't think I could resist.

You said that it is your loudest now. Is it louder that your M90 or your modded 777? I have no other point of reference.

I never count shipping charges, so to me, $50 is an incredible deal! "Junk"...

You're right about the description... On "3", she's brutally loud but the bass doesn't pound as hard as it looks like it does...

Still, the J-1 is THE COOLEST looking box ever made!

Thanks guys!
Mono: Yeah, the sound is a bit strange on this one, when you find the sweet spot for what you're listening to it can thump like buggery. Is it possible it needs 'warming-up' before the bass really gets lively? Mine seems to sound really flat for the couple of mins and then the bass starts kicking in. Not sure if it's just what I've been listening to on her or not. I think a couple of my EQ sliders are unresponsive too, a couple fo the high frequency ones... will have a look a the slider tracks when I get her apart on the weekend. ... and I'll put the black plastic backing back in that I forgot to replace on the balance slider too!

GLD1307: It's louder than both of those. Of course the quality of the sound deteriorates much more at higher volume on this one. Then again, I've never been game to run my C-100 above 60/100... that may beat it. But she is SUPER loud, 3-4/10 is LOUD, and it only goes up from there!

I think this box was really designed to be used at volume outdoors. Especially as it lacks a Loudness feature and the bass kicks in around 2.5-3, which is by NO means an easy background volume!

It's a long weekend coming up, planning on getting her all done and pampered so I can take her out on the streets next week!

Thanks again, brothers!

Really? Wow!
But the Jumbo looks still impressive.
Also interesting would be a soundcomparo. :-)

Roman: Super Jumbo DESTROYS JC2000/Master Blaster for sound in every respect.
The amp on the JC2000 is just too underpowered for the speakers.

Fresh Bacon: Loving your version too!!

Wow, I never... EVER... expected to hear somebody say that! :-O

Hahah, well the M90, C100-F, GF-777 and BigBen also destroy the JC-2000 soundwise too!!

JC2000 is all bark and very little bite. The amp craps out when it should be kicking in.
