I love CD's too and have over 300 and was using my boombox's aux in with a disc man but that got old.
So, I pulled an old iPod Video from the desk drawer and modified it with a massive battery and SD flash hard drive (512gb) and loaded up my converted CD's to it with glee. Now that Aux in is rocking my CD collection and I can take it on the go too.
Yes I have early onset grump. Boomboxes and CD's don't mix. If you find one that works it would be new and sound crap. If you find an old one the CD pickup will have failed. Just stick to cassettes as the decks can be fixed.
AIWA CSD-EX5
I bought one new in the 90's. It was the most elegant and best sounding boom box ever but within a few weeks the cassette stopped working. So I brought it back to the store.
The place told me that they didn’t have another in stock but they could either send it out for a warranty repair or refund my money and wait for them to restock. I chose the refund and will wait to buy another brand new.
Here’s my tale of woe… When I went back a week later to buy another one brand new they told me that AIWA stopped making them and could not get them anymore. I told them I’d take my broken one back with the repair. They told me it was sent back to AIWA and it disappeared into the ether.
