Speaker recommendation

Hey,

I’m looking for advice on what speaker to buy. I’ve currently got a Logitech S715i, which I reckon has been the best money I’ve ever spent. I love the portableness of it, the battery life is great, the lack of Bluetooth doesn’t really bother me, but I’d like something louder though. My budget is $250, it has to be rechargable - (how easy is it to modify battery slots?) and reasonably sturdy because I'm going to use it a lot. Can you recommend anything?

Build your own. For $250, you could build a beast!!
Build a cabinet, install a new D class amp, lithium 12v battery and charger and some hot rod speakers, some wiring and a few switches and unless you mess up big time, you'll end up with something sonically superior to anything available in shops!

You'll have battery life measured in 'days', not 'hours'.

I worded up a couple of young guys in my mail run - they've since built their own boxes and now their warehouse space ROCKS!!!!

iPod docks are good for small rooms but if you want to rock on in a big room or outdoors, you need big speakers, clean power and plenty of it!!
