Wow Claret. I will not go that far I think. I will try not to lose count. My wife would not let :nonono: go that far. But think my limit would be about 12. I ready to hear the sound of tapes again in these boxes.

12 is the limit...

hmmmmmm....

What 12 would that be then....

Best you end up with 12+1 (which becomes 13+1 very quickly)......

Restraint :tease:

The only thing that slows my collecting is the quality of the radios I find and the money in my pocket! :-P

I think the OP is looking for modern day boomboxes that an iPod or iPhone actually docks onto, not an old boomboxes that you have to run a wire to.

I have both the Lasonic i931 and the i931x - they're both identical in average sound and cheap build. If want cool retro flashy looks with passable sound quality - for only $120 or so - they're perfect. Otherwise look elsewhere, but be prepared to spend much more.

That JVC Kaboom that someone posted seems ideal if the sound quality is as good as everyone says.

Here's my i931x and my iPod touch:

Has anyone used one of these Hitachi TRK-3D80HC?
Oh yes I have :-) That'll be a 3D superwoofer, that will, my personal area of expertise.
You'll be able to pick a decent on up from eBay without spending big money (less that fifty). It's plays loud alright, with plenty of bass. The lights are a bit of fun, as is the 'surround'.
If I'm honest, it's not the last word in sound quality. The best from Panasonic, JVC, etc. will do better, but they'll cost alot more too.
Good luck in your search :-)

Thanks for the vid BT. It looks nice might just have to pick one to have. I ended up Altec Lansing IMT 810 for my iPhone.

No problem! That Altec Lansing looks like it must sound really nice! And for $300 - it had better sound amazing! - lol!

Does it have a radio tuner at all? It seems like it doesn't. To me, in that case, I would think it's only a iPhone/iPod dock, and not truly a boombox, no?

The Lasonic has an AM/FM radio, a USB port, and even an SD card slot. I have an SD card packed with MP3 files, and it works really well. It also works as a karaoke machine / PA as it also has a microphone plug.

BTP It has a FM radio. I don't know much about it. But the website says it has two audio ins plus the dock on the front. I got a good deal on the bay but it has not arrived yet  . Hoping to see it before I go on vaca . I would Like to break it in at the river( that might be dried up by the time I get there). I will have video review once it arrives.

Cool! I did read another description - and yes, and it takes 8 D batteries - awesome! I might have to get one of those too now, lol!!
