Thanks for the comments on the surrounds. An FYI though, the ones I made for for square cone speakers for my Pioneer CK-W700. I did make surrounds for my JVC PC-3 as well. :-D

The glue stick I used is for fabric and designed to withstand normal heat cycles including gettig washed. It just made it faster plus I knew it would be forever hidden. :-)

wow, love that sony system!! and that commercial, so classic

DJBREEZY, It is an amazing unit!

The sound quality is awesome!

I cleaned all the contacts with Deoxit. The nly problem is sooner or later I got to replac ethe woofer foam surrounds. That is something I need to plan on how to do it.

Hopefully I can hear one someday!! looks like quite a project you had on your hands.

I was working on fixing the double cassette deck for several evenings and finally I finished it.
Replaced both belts and lubed it.
It is for sureone of the most complicated decks to work on.
Now it works like a charm. :surf: :surf: :surf:

If any member come across with problems fixing the deck I have tonnes of pictures to help fix it.

The belt size is 7.0 inches. Actually I calculated it measuring the distance between the flywheel and the the other drive pulley and diameter of both. After getting the length I multiplied it with 0.95 to accomodate some tension from stretching. The calculation was right on teh nose.

The 7.0" belt was snug fit. I bought the FBS 7.0" from studio electronics.

Measure the diameter of each pulley/flywheel and divide by 2 to get the radius of the pulley
Measure the distance from the center of the pulley/flywheeel to the center of the other pulley

Total length of the belt = [(2 X distance from the center of the pulley/flywheel to the center of the other pulley + 3.14 X radius of the flywheel/pulley + 3.14 X radius of the other pulley)] X 0.95

Basically we are adding the 1/2 of the circumference (2Ï€r) of two pulleys, and adding twice the distance between the center of two pulleys, then reducing the length by 5% to get the snug fit.
