Round it is/was! While in there, I wanted to add a mini bat switch to kill the battery from draining. I know some of you guys put the switch inside the battery compartment. I wanted something easier to get to so I put it next to the power button. I removed the grilles and painted the tweeter openings so now it looks like a larger speaker and takes away the cheap look. Thanks to Reli, I almost forgot to put in chrome dust caps that I had sitting in my parts bin. That alone was an amazing improvement. Since the box is opened up, I ordered some Dynamat to line the speaker walls. This is a decent quality radio for what it is. The speakers are quite heavy with large magnets and the space is ported to the rear. When the case is closed, the speakers are within their own enclosures. The two front silver non functioning buttons lead to small contacts on the circuit board. That must be for the European DAB option. They glued the plastic chrome buttons on the case shut and left the actual switch soldered to the board. That said, they used some grinding tool to cut the electrical path on the pc board. My next feat will be to see about making a larger battery pack since there's space in the compartment. I am hoping to get more than 4 hours of use. I did try to experiment with LED tape light for the dial but it really didn't look the way I was hoping it would. The Dynamat should arrive tomorrow. (Love Amazon!) If you guys have any other improvement suggestions, let me know! I'm going to bed. It's almost 11 and the house went dark. I have automated lighting!
