I think all you need to do is make sure the surface is smooth and clean and they lay right over the old trim.

I've not fired up my 9994 and 9998 for a long time but I have MX-620, 720, 920. Not heard an 820 or a MX-650 but from that era it's the best sounding one I've heard anyway.

Just wipe off with Isopropyl alcohol and lay the decals from caution (Eric).

Just wipe off with Isopropyl alcohol and lay the decals from caution (Eric). Sorry for the late response. The chrome coating is so thin, so that won't make a difference when the decals go over it.

looks lovely...iv always fancied one although i dont like the sound of them being delicate and hard to fix....im all for an easy life lol
