What is the farthest distance your different boxes can pickup? My M70 can get Havana Cuba easily (900 miles away) and many other Spanish speaking stations - though I am not sure where they are as I don't speak Spanish. I haven't really tried hard to see what it can pull in yet.

It depends on where you are located, the time of day it is when you're tuning in, and weather conditions. I live in Boston in a first floor apartment, and my Zenith Trans-Oceanic Y600 also pulls in Havana Radio. I pulled in a station from Russia one night; I think that's the farthest I've ever gotten out. The other issue is; there's simply not too much activity on the shortwave bands anymore compared to what it used to be.

Them 'spanish' stations might actually be from usa
broadcasting to South America.
That way they can reach more people.
The language might not be from where it comes from.
Listen for the station identification.

I do enjoy getting my daily dose of Fidel love. Not enough patience to wait for the station ID's though. Thanks for responding.

Have any of y'all used an external antenna? I've been thinking about building a slinky antenna to test out on my preferred shortwave box (SHARP GF-5454).

Wish i could understand spanish or chinese though...
