royce...so good to hear your feeling better ...glad you fixed the vz I would love to see a pic of it :breakdance: :breakdance:

Thanks Jimmy! :-D :-D I will post it soon.

Hope you are doing well!

I thought I can put it all together but I got stuck into a problem with the record player needle assembly not advancing. I think I have to clean and lubricate the gear assembly near the forward/reverse advance small motor. The grease looks all dried up. Now I have to take the record player out and lube it to see if that fix the problem. I believe the drag from the grooves is slowly moving the needle assembly to the middle which also turns the drive gear assembly.

I also got more clearance between the record player function top buttons and the keys on the function board.
I am not sure the motor turns on intermittently to help that advancement of the needle/gear/motor asembly to the middle. If that is the case I am in big trouble.

On the bright side of things all functions work now except for the problem with the record player.
It sounds excellent!

I am stuck with this for over a week now. It soundsa wesome! Thanks to Ken ( Kenpat
) for sending me the parts. The way he packed parts was outstanding! Ken you are AWESOME! Love you bro!

Cleaned it so well and it looks like new.

But, I have a problem with the record player now.  :sadno: :sadno:

I am looking for answers to fix the problem with the stylus assembly not advancing while it is playing. I can see that the needle is dragged by the grooves, but the whole assembly hesitates to move slowly to the center of the platter/record.

The motor that moves it works in the beginning and also goes back when it comes to the end of the song, but it won't move with the groove towards the center.

After all the work i did from Friday evening after work till Sunday evening skipping meals, now I am stuck with this issue. I am exhausted!

Hi Bill, It all started when you said it sounds so good!

Thanks again for your help with the dismantling of it. I would have run into several issues opening it up without it. It was a good learning experience.

It is a BEAUTY! :breakdance: :breakdance:

I need sliders which I will get later on. I want the original ones. This box is a gem. I love it!

I used a hot needle and got them out without marking the socket at all...was pretty easy to be honest :-D

 Smart! Great idea! Thank you!

Northerner your advice really worked!  Smart guy!

I used a shirt pin to pull it out! I had a few of those lying around came off from a new shirt. I made it red hot with cigarette lighter flame and plunged it to the broken piece of slider making sure not to miss the target, left it there for 30 sec to melt and cool down with the pin. The thermoplastic used for the sliders melted and made a small ring around the edge of the pin. After cooling down for 30 seconds the pin got really stuck to the broken slider piece. It pulled out easily out of the black slider holder. Thank God I still got steady hands I didn't miss the broken piece and hit the black slider holder. I got lucky!
