Chrome dustcaps, black dustcaps. Either one, the 9494 just looks good to me.

Quite so, and no 9494 ever looked less than acceptable to my eyes. It's just that bright metallic caps, in spite of their potential advantage acoustically, are attached to pretty much everything and whilst it is entertaining to look for reflections of the seller in eBay photies of such things, the felt ones really float my boat.

I have one, I look forward to cleaning it up as well. Pleasantly surprised on how good it really sounds. The left vu meter is weaker. But both channels play sound well
