I don't know how well up you are on repair techniques, monerme, but that sort of money would only just have paid for someone to replace the capstan sleeve and the idler tyre - the usual transport mech faults in this as in many other Sharp boxes - yet on eBay, even examples without working decks can, and often do, still sell for almost as much and then you'd have to spend more in both cash and time to get it up to this standard.
You really couldn't go wrong with a fully working one at that price. :thumbsup:

Thanks dudes, learning all the time on repairs, picked up a lot of good ideas on here for only the short time I've been collecting, good to know there are people out there who love these fantastic workes of art.
