Hello friends need some ideas what to check on a Sensor boombox I restored it and It's the cassette deck portion when I got it it didn't work (broken head spring). Now seeing I got it too work it seems to play fine ,but when I press stop and play there is no sound from player for like maybe 8-10 seconds then sound comes on as it's playing then plays fine I can here the speakers when I press it sound like it's charging up before releasing sounds .I replaced majority of caps and checked all transistors seeing maybe its a switching of one bit they seemed fine.so no quite sure .All switches cleaned.it sounds like a capacitor waiting to charge before letting sound out. Now this can prob go for other boombox cassette players that might do this.just wondering if anyone came across same issue and fix.thanks

Since you changed the spring, the tension may not match the original and perhaps the head is elevating slowly or not enough either due to incorrect tension, or friction from dirt, dried grease or whatever. As the head slowly approaches the tape, the volume will probably increase slowly as the contact between the head and tape increases. Just a guess, but you worked on the head and now this, so it's totally worth looking into. If you can operate it with the deck mechanism exposed, you can either just watch the head rise to see if this is indeed the issue, or you can just use a stick to quickly push up on the head as you start play and see if that changes the outcome.
