does it work?

A little bit of contact spray on the phono/line-in switch on the back and im
getting some good sound now.
Cassette plays strong but the pinch roller needs to be replaced as its
gone had. Everything seems to work good including the VU's

Amazing, AZA!!

And the 9000 hasn't lost the red in the VU sticker. Perfection!

Sure makes me realise how faded they do get when i compare.
I think with some time it could clean up very well

I am just finishing up restoring a Sony TC-100. It sounds surprisingly good when you connect it to an external amplifier, and records well too. (new belts, restore pinch roller, new motor, all new electrolytic caps, alignment, cleaning - degrease and re-lube working parts, etc) I was originally thinking about getting a TC-124, and restoring that - then found an 80s boombox (cheap Sony CFS-1000) on local classified ads for $10, then this website, and changed direction a bit. Still kind of want a TC-124 though!
