Yeah it’s always nice to get one of these that isn’t too dinked up. The sound is pretty average and the biphonic system is kind of weird so I tend to keep it just in the ‘stereo’ setting. The styling is so bold and charismatic which is why it’s a favourite amongst collectors.MesaAZGuy said:I want one of those. Still somewhat affordable. Nice unit you got there.
JVC abandoned the biphonic feature after a while and did away with with the whole special stereo/ stereo wide feature on their future boxes. Hence you don’t see it on M70, M90 etc. The exception being the 3090 tv box which actually had a stereo wide setting that worked pretty well.MesaAZGuy said:I've noticed any box with a biphonic, wide, or spatial stereo setting is more of a gimmick. Perhaps over the years the electronics gave way to the proper sound it was supposed to recreate. Either way, you're correct in that yours is not all buggered up. Nice find! I will eventually get one for my shelf
Overall, my experience with the sound quality of these BB's isn't that great. (I don't mean any specific BB) I guess what we thought was awesome back in the day has long left the slip when the new BT technology along with 2" speakers that pound out more bass than a 12" Woofer of that era came along. Maybe its just me, I dunno
Nice, wouldn’t mind playing one these one day.THAFUZZ said:I'm firing up this gem. It's been sitting idle for too long.
