Audio steaming fro the net, video steaming (music clips)... I have got an OS that allows to do, well... let us say good things! And then I record onto MD.

Thus, with that and my bboxes, I also have a nac for MDs... I have quite a few (mainly Sharp MDs) and have also been able to convent 5 Bboxes into MD players (and one into an Mp3 payer) without adulterating them much.

:-D

Any threads on that here?

Oh, Yeah, yeah... That is done.

I kept three, sold 1 (the Mp3 one)... and one died.

They work great and really don't use up a lot of power, FOR-SURE!!!

Great pastime!

All DJ stuff basically..

Won't front, I'll get my iPhone 4 in a couple of weeks and I'm anticipating it like ****!

It's a shame really that the evolution of boomboxes ended mid eighties, just incredible.. Everything else just evolved!

My biggest complaint about how music listening evolved is that so many now do so in a solitary manner, podded & isolated

I'm of the era when you bought a record, cassette, or CD, called up your friends, ordered food, played your tunes, and had an instant party.

Boomboxes were no different. Whenever you gathered together you were able to listen to music & share the experience.

If anything, retro-boomboxes have re-interested people that there is more to music than quietly bobbing your head off by yourself.

The only downside to boomboxes in the day were @ssholes who refused to lower the volume when those around them didn't want to hear it.

That wasn't everyone but it did give them a bad rap.

My other main hobby as you can see from my avatar is collecting pinball machines and jukeboxes, i suppose you could say that a jukebox is like a very large boombox. ;-)

Race my Mustang
Used to street race for money
Somebody tried to race me once and crashed trying to keep up at 100mph+. Now I'm strictly track.
I like to collect $2 bills too.

The only way I can describe my interest is ''nostalgia audio/video''. I'm gonna concentrate on the boxes, but I'm going to try to find all the stereo and video equipment that my family owned when I was growing up. So far, I have a Sony Betamax, Sony reel-to-reel, vintage Fisher stack system and speakers, a couple of vintage turntables, 8-track player w/tape collection, audio reels, cassettes, and old video game systems including a couple of Gameboys w/games. What I'm searching for now is a vintage stereo system--c. '60s or '70s and either RCA Victor or similar. It had a center console that housed a radio and a turntable and two large separate floor speakers. For a very old system, it could scream and bump.

My other hobby involving electrics would be fixing the dodgy Pommy excuse for wiring in Landrovers!!!

Tell me about it. I own a Disco 1 and it is all starting to go wrong. I've had it for 4 years and have already put in almost half of the purchase price in repairs. Now I just drive it around the block.
