Wow, thanks everybody! Lots of positive feedback - now I'm even more anxious to get my hands on it!!!!!! I will post my review as soon as I get it!

Super, does it only weigh as much as GF-777? Or does it sounds as good too? The GF-777 has been my all time favorite boombox, so I hope this SK-900 won't best it and ruin it for me

Hemi, yeah, I got it on ebay yesterday - it was a BIN auction, and I was looking at it for maybe 20 minutes hoping that someone would get it, but nobody would step up, so I finally clicked that BIN button myself :-D

Vlad. The reference about the weight is to give you an idea that this is no empty looker. It is packed with lots of goodies, and it's well built -- like a tank. I can't remember if it's as loud as the GF-777 but it definitely is a vey good sounding boombox. I believe it has 8watts/channel RMS. By comparison, the M70 has 7wpc RMS and the M90 has 8.5wpc RMS. This model also uses 4 amplfiers (2/channel) in a bridged arrangement. Having the same amount of power as these other heavy hitters doen't necessary translate to the same loudness spl (sound pressure level) because the drivers are smaller than the other models but it sounds much louder than those small drivers suggest. The service manual does state that this model outputs 40watts music power, whatever that means. That being said, It DOES need to be in good condition though to be at it's best as this model frequently requires heavy cleaning of the controls and switches to be at it's best. I think the reason is that unlike simpler boomboxes that can be easily accessed and worked on -- this one is intimidating so it rarely gets any maintenance done to it. It's also a very complicated boombox and if you ever saw the service manual, which is like 80 pages or something -- it is jam packed with cutting edge high end circuitry at the time. In fact, all of the switching is accomplished electronically with solid state components. The actual switches themselves are momentary switches -- the actual switching/latching is done with transistors.

All I'm saying is be prepared to be suprised. Those drivers are small, the sound is anything but. The quality is top notch, you might think of this boombox as a piece of art. No other boombox has several model replicas of it, which should speak volumes about how highly this boombox was regarded. No, worshiped. :w00t: :-O
