That series came out in the mid-90s. My dad has the dual cassette top-loading CD model with the logic controlled tape decks. Very nice.

I think I like the RX-DT690 the best out of these because of the power, full logic controls, and 3-way bi-amped speakers! (Plus you gotta love the backlit LCD!)

The RX-DT680 has better bass than the 690 though!!

Hello myohmy there is an rx-cs780. It has manual tuning and a line in for CD but no built in CD player. It looks a lot like a rx-dt680. Just without the logic/soft touch dual cassette and the above mentioned lack of built in CD player.It is a 4.4PDS bi amp system.So I'm sure it sounds really good. Hope this helps you out some.☺☺☺

Yep, sounds the same as an RX-CT990/980 - same speakers, same amplifiers.
That's mine, bought it maybe a month ago.

The CD models were considered high end so I doubt they would have made a CD model with a manual tuner.

YES they are ..
i have the 650 --analogue tuner

ALL platinum speakers sound wonderful
