Hi there!
Last week I got my old Palladium "micro boombox" back! She is in rather good condition, with only few bumps and bruises, and rather clean for a radio from 1985.
There are several things wrong with it (of course):
1) Volume pot is very scratchy
2) Tape does not run
3) ...there is strange wire and a switch in battery bay ?? it was definitely not there when I have lend her...
4) At least two screws are missing from the back.

First look inside:
She uses a puny TEA2025 amp. Nevertheless, I have found this amp back in 2000 in Cambridge-branded computer speakers...
Radio uses all-in-one chip:
The waxed thread has rather convoluted trajectory, I hope I will not have to reubuild it:
After removing two screws through the holes in the main board, finally the culprits for tape deck are visible: broken belt and leaf switch.
Well, You know the drill. Soapy water, brushing, cleaning the pots and switches with Kontakt60, and searching the web for tape belt and leaf switch. I'll keep you posted!
