I wouldn't call it a mini, but yes, the Sony FH series are definitely awesome.

I have one it slaughters the fh7... well it is bigger... the only box that i would say is better is the jvc 1000

That's a steal. I use them around the yard, on my tractor, when I'm dripping brake fluid while working on my cars, etc. It's cheap music, I don't got to worry about what happens to them, and they work too.

as most people know i have two of them.
i also have the sony fh7 mk3.
the latter is a better made unit imho. i also think it sounds a bit better but not as loud.
that just my preference.
that being said i do think the big fh215r units are really amazing. it does not have that round bass a kaboom does. it has the kick you in the gut i am not fooling around bass only it possesses .
they are really amazing units and i am glad to own them.

From the photos, it looks like the FH-215R is mostly plastic whereas I know that the FH-7 has metal chassis with wood speakers.
