Thanks for the kind words everyone....this place always makes me feel a little better, no matter how crazy things get.

Bobby, I might end up living in that thing in your front yard! :-/

Sorry to hear of your predicament Chris. :-(

Life sure gets complicated sometimes - it always seems the people who are prepared to stick their necks out and have a go in life are always the ones who get ****ed around.

I know what you should do! Move to Australia! :-) lots of happy American expats living around here! :-) (Free healthcare)

Good grief what a bunch of BS pretty bummed to hear this. Really hope it doesn't get any worse and you're able to pick up the pieces as they are. Uncertainty is the worst!

Chris, that really sucks.... But keep your head up

Document EVERYTHING. Surely they can be convinced to reimburse you for most of your troubles, even if you don't go. It's basic decency.

Chris brother, this is terrible news, I'm sorry to hear it. One would think a freeze would be on future hires, not in-process hires...

But then the President would have to be one that thinks.... but lets not get into that. This is about you.

I hope it all gets situated sooner than later, and doesn't end up costing you two. But one question. What if you continued with the move and waited it out over there, but looking for possible replacement jobs while waiting?

Is that even possible to try? Anyways, you don't deserve thus situation. If Karma is real, then you'll be just fine at the end of this.

Chris sorry to hear about this situation you're in and the decisions that were made from the Gov. I truly hope that things come to a positive and you can resume with your plans.

You're a guy that deserve all the respect for all you do, especially when you participate in those marathons for cancer and that is so honorable of you to do because I feel you're running for me as a cancer survivor.

Hopefully it is a temporary pause that will soon end and allow you guys to proceed.

God Bless!

I can't believe they can just stop this on a whim. The wheels were in motion and lots of pre-planning and life changes had to be made to be ready for the date you move. I would probably hire a lawyer if this really gets put on hold. This is not good buddy.

If you want to live with us, you can.

Not much i can say except to echo everyone else, I hate that the bas shiz often happens to the nicest people. You dont desrve to get messed around like this and be out of pocket for it, i'd say legal advice soon if the situation isn't resolved.

I do feel for you both :(

Thanks for all the kind words guys....it means allot.

This site still stands head and shoulders above any other place on the internet. When you consider that it is, for the most part, self policed, you can really see the quality and integrity of the members.

We are hopeful this will be resolved. My wifes boss is talking with her boss, the Italian boss is talking with her boss. Trying to figure out who gets to move forward based on the dates that things were put in motion. When the cut off dates are, who is affected.

If you have ever been to the department of motor vehicles and dealt with a paperwork snafu, just think of this on a larger scale.

IF...and I mean IF this can be worked out before Feb 6th then we are going. That's when our house hold goods are to be picked up.

Wish me luck

Chris, if I had a choice of my own front yard or Ira's back yard, I would choose Ira's back yard every time!

Hello Boombox Family,

After 48 hours of mega stress and many people scrambling, we are back to GO MODE! Although, by law, I am not allowed to post the actual letters from the president, the can of worms opened up by the first hasty decision was followed with another hasty decision that will allow us to go.

Household will be picked up February 6th and 7th, we drop off our car for shipment later that week, but we still don't have a fly out date, so we will be living in a hotel until that part can be worked out.

The real tragedy in all this will be the fact that I will only have 1 radio with me all that time!   :-O :-/

Today a man showed up to look at everything being shipped. He was left speechless when he saw all the radios. Just had no words.... :jawdrop:
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR GOOD WISHES AND KIND WORDS. I swear I would just freaking lose it without you all here to lean on!

Seriously, Thank you! :smooch:
