Bang for buck, the RX-DT680 has to be the non-egg winner when sound quality, CD capability and bass are priorities.
Unfortunately, the prices have risen massively lately. A couple of years ago, I scored around 5 of these for under $20 each. Not anymore. More like $200 each, sometimes without the remote!!
Too bad that 70CD555 doesn't have a battery compartment. It does have two 8-pin DIN -connectors that say "battery supply in" and "see instructions for use", but I have no clue what kind of battery pack it should have, never seen one. Maybe some day I'll find the instruction manual. Though its rated at 95W from 230V outlet, so I think there is no realistic way to carry it around with a battery. Also the carrying handle is super flimsy, the structure is all plastic, even the speaker attachment is worse than my on tiny Taiwanese 3-piecer.
