Yeah, it sucks - it could be worse. Imagine if it showed up with the front side caved in  .

I guess if it was going to get damaged, this is the least conspicious place and it should be a pretty easy fix. Just got lucky really that the transformer's wires didn't come undone, then the insides would be bashed to ****.

It's ok - I'm over it :-D

Still waiting for a response from USPS.

Do you guys know if USPS keeps the item if you make a claim on it?

I know that UPS will actually come and pickup a damaged item that they give an insurance claim on, I don't want USPS to take it from me.....

They don't even send you an email to let you know what's up. Pretty good getting the claim passed through quickly, which is nice. So, will they just send a check/money order to me?

Anyway, this claim let me keep the 951 and it paid for a special boomer from a member here...... I wonder what it is :angelic: :-P  :ninja: ?

Thanks to USPS, I have a FREE fully working and partially repaired 951. Besides the back case repairs this thing is really mint. Just looking for 1 knob and 1 slider. I straightened out the front grills a little and cleaned it up with windex and a small toothbrush. I pulled the covers off the speakers and cleaned the gunk off of them too. It turned out excellent. Still very happy to own it and hopefully I can find a rear case from a 975/951/935 to replace this one with and just transfer the 951 sticker over.

Here ya go, enjoy  .

Thanks IRA.

I like the combination of the shiney and flat black. The brownish/gold keys and accents just set it off. Not sure why they made the tweeter grills chrome, the more I look at the pics the more those look out of place :hmmm: .

I do love it and suprisingly the sound between the 975 and the 951 is noticeably different. The shiney black dust caps are fun  .

Bought a 975 eq slider and a 931 knob for this box. Gotta paint them flat black and convert the 931 knob to "D" shaft shape so it fits this 951 :-/ .

Does anyone know who bought Johnny's 951?

Thanks Chris - When my 935 gets here there will be a MASSIVE photo shoot  ;-)

The 951 is a rare bird for sure. I have seen Johnny's picture of his but no one knows where his ended up after he sold off his collection. I did see one other one on ebay a few years ago but that is it.
