No Auto stop

Hi everybody I’m having an issue with a hitachi trk8190e boombox, I’ve replaced all the belts but the auto stop isn’t working, any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks

If there's too much slack in the belts it will cause the auto stop to malfunction.
Also check the rubber parts wherever you can to make sure the hard rubber parts are hard and the soft rubber parts are pliable .

I used to have an immaculate trk 8190 . I loved that boombox . I still want to kick myself for selling it.

Thanks Floyd for your help I will try the belts and have a look at the rubber parts, yes I love this boombox ,it’s sounds great and is really well built , will post pics when it’s back together,cheers

Sounds like an issue with the Clutch. When it reaches the end of the tape the clutch should slip to allow the mechanism to complete the Mechanical logic.

I have been known to cut the spring in half to reduce the pressure plate tension. PS its just the take up reel, doesn't affect tape tension as it controlled by pinch roller.

Old Nationals are actually adjustable.
